Interview with Mike Friedrichs, CEO of Recon Protection

1. Tell us a bit about Recon Protection LLC.

Recon Protection is a local Twin Cities based security agency founded by three security industry professionals with over 15 years experience. The company is built on the mission statement “Security you can count on”., and excels at superb customer service and excellent attention to detail, which makes us stand apart from the other security agencies in the Twin Cities. we also have courage and compassion for what we do. As a client, we strive to exceed your expectations by providing a service you can rely on and by going above and beyond your expectations. We will personalize any service to your specific needs and wants. By doing so we make sure to keep an open line of communication between our management teams and our clients to ensure your needs and requests are being met.

 

2. What gave you the idea for your business and how did it start?

The idea came after spending a few years in the industry and seeing how quickly the clients are forgotten about shortly after contract signing, and I one day said when I start my business my clients will always have an open line of communication with me. I make a promise that I will always be fair, honest, truthful and upfront with each and every client no matter if it is a one day event or a daily job site.

3. What’s your favorite thing about your job?

*Everyday is a new adventure, with the different clients I speak with daily to watching this dream grow into reality.
*Removing worries for clients who require security guards for their buildings, facilities, and events by providing excellent customer service for clients and in-depth training for their employees
*Listening carefully to client concerns and objectives to create customized security guard packages
*Helping clients see the difference (pro/con) in the services we provide and consequences going frugal VS investing more to get a better out come in the end. The responses have been amazing every client I met with so far has said the same thing “you guys are truly amazing at what you do, you care about the customers needs, not about how much money you can get out of me.” one customer said “you were the best security we have ever worked with”

4. What are your keys to making yourself productive?

Every day I work on new strategies to stand out from the rest in the crowd to every new potential customer, along with building my brand to command excellence in this industry.
The passion I have for making this industry better and just making a name for myself and my business.

5. Tell us one long-term goal in your career.

Being rated the number one choice for security service in Minnesota and to eventually open multiple offices in different states.

6. What’s the most valuable lesson you’ve learned through the course of your career?

If you take care of your clients, they will take care of your success.

7. What advice would you give to others aspiring to succeed in your field?

Take time to study the industry, and make sure your truly ready to sacrifice ALOT to get your business off the ground to be successful

8. What are your favorite things to do outside of work?

Outside of work I spend a lot of time with my dog, haven’t had much time in the last few months to much as I have been focused on growing my business
