Tell us a bit about Anakeion Music.
Anakeion music is an independent record label founded in 2015 by myself and a business partner that I recruited. We have 2 artists currently signed to our label, a very talented twin-brother, hip-hop duo called Metanoiz , and a very talented singer-songwriter-guitarist named Ben Gorski. We do management as well for a couple of other gifted indie bands and artists.
What gave you the idea for your business and how did it start?
A life-long love of music and a deep interest in the music business. I came across a unique opportunity and jumped in with both feet.
What’s your favorite thing about your job?
I truly enjoy the aspects of networking with others in the field. connecting people with each other for their mutual benefit, and above all helping to develop and present gifted indie artists to the world by giving them a creative space, a performance platform and a team behind them.

Tell us one long-term goal in your career.
To create a music label/management company that is known for the highest caliber talent and the highest level of honesty and integrity in the industry. To systematically expand the brand in specific avenues, and to help as many people as possible along the way.
What’s the most valuable lesson you’ve learned through the course of your career?
Keep a very close, well-screened circle of people around you, and build a team with those whom you can trust, who trust you and share your vision.
What advice would you give to others aspiring to succeed in your field?
Be exceedingly consistent in everything you do to develop and promote your brand, always be thinking about your business and act upon your ideas daily – and never give up.
What are your favorite things to do outside of work?
Spend time with family, go to concerts, read.
Name a few influential books you’ve read and/or websites you keep up with that you’d recommend to readers.
I tend to read biographies and autobiographies on icons in the music industry – both artists as well as label executives. I love learning about each one’s process, experiences, growth curve, and ultimate success.
