Q&A with Jeremy Sygh, CEO of Flaulis Clothing

Tell us a bit about Flaulis Clothing.

Flaulis is more of a culture that inspires everyone to be positive, optimistic, inspiring and be themselves.  The clothing represents that so we design our clothing with the individual person in mind.  Not only do you we want to alter people’s perspectives, we also want the clothing to do the talking for that individual.  Take for example our I.M.E. T-shirt ).  This T-Shirt is very unique in the sense that it has two sayings. On one hand, it says “I.M.E.” (Immaculate Meets Extravagant) while on the other it reads “I.M Me” so a person who is wearing this design essentially is saying I’m Me while the slogan to Flaulis is also present.  Pretty cool, wouldn’t you agree?

What gave you the idea for your business and how did it start?

Flaulis has been around since 1996-97 so its been here for 20 years however by the early 2000’s I wasn’t seeing anything on the market that had the word spelled as I did.  That is when I came up with the idea to begin a business for it.  I never started it due to lack of drive so I was pretty much a wantrepreneur until 2015.  I went through a really bad breakup and one of my friends asked me about Flaulis and the clothing business.  So my mind went to work researching for an entire 2 months, signing up for things, creating designs to release, etc.  Got in touch with a lawyer and started the process of trademarking while building the social platforms and the selling platform.  By April of 2016, I released the first set of designs and every April new items are released.

What’s your favorite thing about your job?

Designing, making decisions, and just knowing that working hard will pay off.

What are your keys to making yourself productive?

I’ve found that reading every day, applying those things I read as well as changing my perspective is making myself be more humble and productive.

Tell us one long-term goal in your career.

One long term goal that I have is to help unfortunate children and adults achieve their dreams and goal.  I want to use my success platform as a means to help others with no return but the satisfaction of seeing them become what they strive to be but do not know how.  This comes with investing in inner-city marketing and community centers that teach classes on becoming entrepreneurs at an income-based level while also giving 2 classes for free each week during their enrollment.

What’s the most valuable lesson you’ve learned through the course of your career?

Fail, fail, and fail and try again.  I have adopted a THC mindset.  That means that whether you succeed in a small victory or fail, the hustle continues.  So the valuable lesson to me throughout my career is THC.

What advice would you give to others aspiring to succeed in your field?

Never stop EVER.  Keep working, keep learning, and keep progressing.  Do not get discouraged at all yet find power within that discouragement to continue to pursue your dreams.  Do not make excuses, do not complain, and do not give up.  Everything starts in your mind and ends in your mind so once you have given up in your mind, it will reflect in your work ethic.  Stay motivated, stay hustling, and stay Flaulis is my advice.

What are your favorite things to do outside of work?

I enjoy spending time with my kids.  There’s nothing greater to enjoy than spending time with loved ones.

Name a few influential books you’ve read and/or websites you keep up with that you’d recommend to readers.

I’d recommend a guy who’s name is Gary Vee (@garyvee).  I have learned so much from him and he is down to earth which means I can relate to him and learn at the same time.  I’d also recommend Damon John who started Fubu.  Any books that I would recommend would be anything in regards to your goals.   I prefer audio books myself and I’ve listened to “The 1 Page Marketing Plan”, “Income Streams”, “The Simple Path To Wealth”, “Exactly What To Say”, and “Crystal Clear Communication” in which all could be found on Amazon Audible.
