Q&A with Demond Hicks, CEO of Hicks Holding LLC.

Tell us a bit about Hicks Holding LLC.

Hicks Holding, LLC is an investment consulting firm. Our motto is “Investing on a Budget”

What gave you the idea for your business and how did it start?

I started Hicks Holding to give people of all income brackets a place where they could invest and get expert advice on those investments and trades at a low cost to them.

What’s your favorite thing about your job?

Getting commendations from clients that see their portfolios growing from working with us.

What are your keys to making yourself productive?

I have to stay on top of the markets so I can advise my clients accurately every day. So keep my clients accounts profitable is what makes me stay productive.

Tell us one long-term goal in your career.

My long term goal is to educate as many people as possible and build my business solely on word of mouth. I plan to scale the business at 2 million is assets.

What’s the most valuable lesson you’ve learned through the course of your career?

Being fair and trustworthy goes a long way in business.

What advice would you give to others aspiring to succeed in your field?

Be patient, always promote yourself and stay hungry for the grind. Every morning, I get up I think about who I can get to pay me for some service today. You should always strive to make new money every day.

What are your favorite things to do outside of work?

Play with my children, I like to workout, mentor and host my radio show on Radio One. It’s titled Across The Board Investing. I also enjoy being a recurring contributor on CNBC’s The Closing Bell.

Name a few influential books you’ve read and/or websites you keep up with that you’d recommend to readers.

Grant Cardone’s books are at the top of my list of must reads and read again. I like the Everyday Millionaires by Chris Hogan, and Rise and Grind by Daymond John.
