Interview with Daniel Hart, CEO of BodyByDeuce
Tell us a bit about BodyByDuece LLC
BodyByDuece is a personal training business that specialized in functional movement training.
Functional movement is the training of everyday movements instead of muscles. We focus on
making the workouts not only beneficial but fun. We strive to have clients look forward to
putting in work and enjoy the results even more.
What gave you the idea for your business and how did it start?
BodyByDuece started as just a saying honestly. I love working out more than just about anything
and I would always hit the pose and let my gym friend know this is a “body by deuce”. It just
kind of caught on and next thing you know BodyByDuece was just a thing the people I train
were saying. It seemed like the perfect name for my business.
Whats you Favorite thing about your job?
I really don’t consider it a job. I can think of nowhere I would rather be all day every day. How
many people can say they get paid to do what they love. That has always been my goal. I never
wanted to be stuck doing something I didn’t genuinely enjoy and I have been lucky enough not
to have to.
What are your keys to making yourself productive?
Structure for sure. When I wake up in the morning, I like to already have decided what I need to
accomplish. I like to set realistic daily goals. Nothing feels better than accomplishment.
Something I like to portray to my clients is celebrating all the small goals they set for themselves
that lead them to their main goal.
Tell us one long term goal in your career.
I want BodyByDuece to be a household name, what could be better than that?
What the most valuable lesson learned throughout the course of your career?
You’re not going to be everyone’s cup of tea. I have had to come to terms with the fact that I am
only going to help clients be successful is if we can connect. I’ve learned that there is nothing
wrong with referring someone to another trainer if I recognize I won’t be able to get them what
they are looking for.
What advice would you give to others aspiring to succeed in your field?
Get an understanding of psychology. What works for one person isn’t going to work for the next.
Learn how to read people.
What are your favorite things to do outside of work?
I love fishing. Any chance I get you will find me out on my kayak with my poles looking for
bass.
Name a few influential books or websites.
Anything written by Robert Greene (The 48 Laws of Power, The Art of Seduction, and the 33
Strategies of War) and The Prince by Niccollo Machiavelli.
