Interview with Brandon Bradford CEO of Weekend Vibes, LLC
Tell us a bit about Weekend Vibes, LLC.
Weekend Vibes, LLC was created by entrepreneurs, for entrepreneurs. Our goal is to help others accomplish their professional goals no matter how big or small. We provide resumes, wholesale products for small businesses, travel booking, event planning, online marketing, website development, and even business mentorship.
What gave you the idea for your business and how did it start?
Well, my wife and I had a lot of questions when we started our first business venture. As we continued to learn and share our experiences, we noticed a void that needed to be filled. So many other people were interested in starting or expanding their businesses, but were stagnant because they didn’t know what steps to take, or didn’t have anyone to help them execute their plans.
What’s your favorite thing about your job?
I’m just grateful to be in a position to help others. That’s what I love. Not only seeing other entrepreneurs become successful, but knowing that I’ve played a part in that success, large or small, makes me feel great!
What are your keys to making yourself productive?
First off, i have clear goals. I may not have every step planned out, but I always keep the destination in mind. Your motivation is whatever it is that you’re shooting for. Know what that is, and move towards it every single day. Secondly, i’m very careful about who I hang out with. It’s not a competition, but I only surround myself with likeminded people. People who can help me, give advice, and just be there for me when times get tough. Because times will get tough. That’s when your “village” will really help you pull through. Third, i write everything down. Whether on paper or in my iPhone notepad, I’m pretty sure every idea I’ve ever had is written down somewhere. It helps me to physically see my goals. I can add or subtract steps and see my progress in black and white. Tasks are either complete or incomplete. All facts, no excuses.
Tell us one long-term goal in your career.
I will be a bestselling author, and traveling speaker. One day I’ll be able to share my experiences and perspective with the world. I’ll be an inspiring story for little black boys who may not have role models they can look up to, who also look like them.
What’s the most valuable lesson you’ve learned through the course of your career?
Knowledge is free. We’re in the age of information. The internet enables us to learn literally anything and everything we may need to become successful. You can find online courses, mentors, investors, or whatever else you need for free or cheap. You just have to be willing to look for what you want, and apply what you learn. Get in the game.
What advice would you give to others aspiring to succeed in your field?
Never be selfish. Sometimes we hold ourselves back by trying to keep all of our knowledge and resources to ourselves. Don’t worry about money. Provide value. The money will come naturally once you provide enough value. Gain as much knowledge, learn as many skills as you can, and you won’t have to “sell” anything. You’ll just provide value to those who seek our your services.
What are your favorite things to do outside of work?
Of course traveling is at the top of the list. Foreign or domestic, flight, road trip, or cruise, I’m all for it! I’ll be traveling outside the United States twice in 2020 and I’m pretty excited about that. I’m a huge basketball fan. (Go Celtics, Go Jayhawks) i live in Houston so the Rockets get an “honorable mention” too. I love attending games and watching on tv. I also love to eat! Good food creates good vibes and brings people together.
Name a few influential books you’ve read and/or websites you keep up with that you’d recommend to readers.
My wife and I are reading “Contagious” by Jonah Berger right now. It’s a great book about creative marketing and promotion strategies. It’s really helped me learn how to promote with purpose. It’s not always the loudest in the room who gets the most attention. I also love “Millionaire Success Habits” by Dean Graziosi. Of course the almost cliche “Rich Dad Poor Dad”, and a lesser-known gem, “Broken But Not Destroyed” by one of my favorite authors J. Monroe.
