Q&A With d’Artanyan Terry, CEO of Platinum Skyyy

Tell us a bit about Platinum Skyyy.

As a published author and writer, I have named my business brand Platinum Skyyy.

I chose the name Platinum Skyyy as Platinum is a very precious metal of high value, and the sky is the limit for an individual aspiring to succeed.

What gave you the idea for your business and how did it start?

I have always been a fan and a champion of the underprivileged and individuals that need assistance in one aspect or another in life.

Let’s face it – information is power. The right information at the right time can make an individual most successful.

I have therefore chosen to write about subjects in the self-improvement, self-help, and do-it-yourself (DIY) genres respectively.

What’s your favorite thing about your job?

Providing informative information that may assist an individual to better their lifestyle with life-changing results.

What are your keys to making yourself productive?

a. Advanced preparation.
b. A good night’s rest.
c. A good diet which improves cognitive ability.
d. Writing in an environment that is conducive to literary creativity. I am most productive in the early morning hours after a good night’s sleep.

Tell us one long-term goal in your career.

After many years of employment in the corporate world, I have acquired knowledge on numerous different subjects by trial and error. Writing has become an affinity for me. Having many thoughts, ideas, and concepts in my head for many years – I have decided to put them to pen and paper.

I wish to continue writing for many years to come. Creativity is a great key to the enjoyment of life for me. Once the creativity is gone, then the music dies.

What’s the most valuable lesson you’ve learned through the course of your career?

Never stop learning. Collect information and store it for future usage. This – regardless of how many times your career may change over the course of years to come.

What advice would you give to others aspiring to succeed in your field?

Do your research and due diligence. Research is key. Learn as much as you possibly can about the literary world past and present — and what trends or changes may be in store for the future.

For anyone deciding to embark on a career in the literary field, I would suggest that they relax and enjoy the ride.

Never allow anything to stifle your creativity and thought processes.

I would also encourage an individual to wholeheartedly read the Holy Bible. It comes complete with action, drama, prose, mystery, intrigue and much wisdom. It has awesome promises by its Author for the future. It is indeed The Greatest Story Ever Told.

What are your favorite things to do outside of work?

In my spare time, I enjoy travel, playing chess, listening to music and meeting people from all ethnic backgrounds.

Name a few influential books you’ve read and/or websites you keep up with that you’d recommend to readers.

Once again, my primary inspiration has been the Holy Bible. Ancillary works that I enjoyed have been those written by my namesake Alexandre Dumas.

I have enjoyed reading his works over the years, such as: The Three Musketeers, the Corsican Brothers, and the Man in the Iron Mask.
