Q&A with DJ Lettus, Founder of Labb Massa Studioz

Tell us a bit about Labb Massa Studioz.

Labb Massa Studios is a production studio that writes music mainly for film and TV some artists too and its a production studio for voice over and TV commercials.

What gave you the idea for your business and how did it start?

First, I was a DJ and audio visual guy. Then, when looking back, I decided to make a switch to production since i play percussion and clarinet. It made total sense being told I have an ear for music as well.

What’s your favorite thing about your job?

My favorite thing is the versatility of not staying in one lane and traveling. Meaning I’m not stuck at a 9 to 5 behind a desk or working to make another person rich.

What are your keys to making yourself productive?

My productive keys are to stay doing what others arent doing by experimenting with multiple Digital Audio Work Station (D.A.W.S) software & hardware to keep me on top of my creativity and different vibe instead of sounding like everybody else.

Tell us one long-term goal in your career.

One long term goal is to get a huge sync placement that continues to pay whether its in film, TV, or even with an artist as long as i get credits for it. Sync means payed upfront for it and royalties as well.

What’s the most valuable lesson you’ve learned through the course of your career?

Valuable lesson learned would be that networking is key. If there is no relationship there is no you in this business.

What advice would you give to others aspiring to succeed in your field?

Be patient and keep moving forward to successfully make a name for yourself and have original music but be creative and not cocky.

What are your favorite things to do outside of work?

Favorites such as flying drones and building studios outright.
