One of my long-term goals is to build self-sustaining income based on partnerships and sponsorships. I’d love to do that through social media photography and stock photography for different brands.

Tell us a bit about Just Kameisha.

Just Kameisha is a lifestyle brand that aspires to inspire women of color to live their best lives holistically, embrace the challenges they face head on, and to get free.

What gave you the idea for your business and how did it start?

I’ve been on a journey to better myself financially, spiritually, emotionally, intellectually, and physically. People have been encouraging and have also asked what I do to live my best life. A light went off and I thought, why not?

What’s your favorite thing about your job?

I enjoy being my authentic self in public. I don’t have to pretend or do anything I don’t want to do – I literally just post me living my best life.

What are your keys to making yourself productive?

Knowing that this is something I am really interested in has been super helpful in keeping me productive. I’ve already planned my posting schedules for 2018 and have a list of businesses that I want to partner with. It’s phenomenal.

Tell us one long-term goal in your career.

One of my long-term goals is to build self-sustaining brand based on partnerships and sponsorships. I’d love to do that through social media photography and stock photography for different brands.

What’s the most valuable lesson you’ve learned through the course of your career?

The most valuable lesson that I’ve learned was that I am a very proud person. I like to give the highest quality work and I also like to provide affordability. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, I just know that I have high standards and my clients come back because of that work ethic and pride.

What advice would you give to others aspiring to succeed in your field?

I would say find a balance between living your best life and working for clients. Be firm in your work hours, but also be understanding of your clients’ needs. Don’t work for free. Make sure that you’re gaining something of value out everything you do. Always.

What are your favorite things to do outside of work?

I enjoy traveling and going to therapy. I also love binge watching Naruto.

Name a few influential books you’ve read and/or websites you keep up with that you’d recommend to readers.

Emotional Intelligence 2.0 (Bradberry and Greaves)

Become Your Own Boss in 12 Months (Melinda Emerson)

Power of Broke (Daymond John)
