0

Tell us a bit about Street Certified Music Group.

Street Certified Music Group was created by my older cousin “Schultz” who is also a Hip Hop artist. This group was originated about 15 years ago in Plainfield, NJ.

What gave you the idea for your business and how did it start?

I have always loved music since I was a kid. I didn’t really start going full blown with my music career until 2016. First I was uploading videos of me freestyling, started recording songs, even started learning the production side of music. I quickly realized that my music career is in fact a business and since November 2017 that’s how I started viewing it.

What’s your favorite thing about your job?

My favorite thing about this job is the connection I make with my new fans. I have people randomly inboxing me telling me how they love my music and how a certain song touched them because they can relate to it.

What are your keys to making yourself productive?

I believe the keys to making myself productive are investment, networking, and building a strong team with members who have the same mindset as me.

Tell us one long-term goal in your career.

One long term goal I have is to put together my own tour and visit all of the states and introduce them to my music and connect with whatever fans I already have in that state.

What’s the most valuable lesson you’ve learned through the course of your career?

The most valuable lesson I learned through the course of my career is to copyright your material and never reveal your next moves until they are already in motion.

What advice would you give to others aspiring to succeed in your field?

The advice I would give to others in my field is to not allow others opinions to determine who you are. Everyone is not for you. Everyone is not happy about your success. Make your own decisions based off how you feel and results from others you look up to.

What are your favorite things to do outside of work?

Outside of work I love to spend time with my family. I am also into going new places and trying new things so I am always finding new places to visit.

Name a few influential books you’ve read and/or websites you keep up with that you’d recommend to readers.

One influential book I have read more than once and I would recommend to everyone no matter what your field is. “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki.
